Tiger Cave Temple

The Tiger Cave Temple, locally known as Wat Tham Suea, is another of these fascinating sights that you'll have the chance to come across on your River Kwai Cruise. Wat Tham Sua is one of the famous temples in Kanchanaburi. Those who are coming to visit this temple will see a beautiful Buddha image from far away because, in this temple, there is the largest Buddha Image in Kanchanaburi located. Apart from respecting the Buddha Image, visitors also come here in order to respect the holy relics in Ketkaew Prasat Chedi. This temple is situated in Tha Muang District, where visitors can stopover before arriving in the city of Kanchanaburi.

Wat Metta Thamma Pothiyan

Wat Metta Thamma Phothiyan It is a Mahayana Chinese sect temple. There is a Chinese name called "Chu Pui Sor Pu Tiseem Yi '' The history of the temple construction started in the year 1994. Phra Ajahn Yen Mong from Wat Pho Yen, Tha Maka District, he traveled for a pilgrimage to practice Dharma and saw that the place was suitable to build a temple. Therefore, it has discussed with many relatives and received support for the operation. Then, the Foundation of Mercy Bodhiyan was established and requested to purchase land rights from villagers, totaling 387,200 square meters and proceeded to build a temple according to the governmental procedures in 1999. The general public likes to travel to get relief and enhance the destiny and prestige.

Kuang-Im Chapel

The Kuang-Im Chapel is a new and unfinished Chinese-style Buddhist temple located on the banks of The River Kwai, very close to The Bridge on the River Kwai in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. This colorful temple hosts a huge Chinese Goddess of Mercy statue and several bronze statues and marble dragon sculptures within its gardens.

WAT BAN THAM

Also known as the Temple of the Golden Dragon because the stairs leading to it ends in the jaws of a dragon before reaching the cave where the temple is. Wat Ban Tham is located in Khao Noi Sub-district. It is 5 kilometers from the downtown of Kanchanaburi. The cave entrance is a deep stare into the dragon’s mouth. Inside the cave has stalagmites that look like women local believe it is Mrs. Bua Klee, Khun Phaen’wife from the story of Khun Chang Khun Phan. On the top of the mountain, there are other caves that have beautiful stalactites and stalagmites.

Mallika is the retro-city reflecting the past Siamese lifestyle in the Chao Phraya River Basin. During the reign of King Chulalongkorn, Rama V (1873-1910 A.D.), the people’s way of life in 1905 A.D. was plentifully changed. The most pronounced was the abolition of slavery. When freed, these former Siamese slaves had to live and earn a living by themselves without control and supports from their noblemen and masters anymore. They had to live a life of self-sufficiency, self-reliance, and in harmony with all other Siamese people. These changing patterns of lifestyle are the cornerstone of today’s Thai people.
